Dr Kate's Recommenations for Anxiety 0

Dr Kate Rheaume-Bleue N.D. was featured on the Health First Radio Show recently and was talking about  anxiety and stress. She said that it is apparent to most people that life seems to be moving faster and faster with the advent of new technologies and communication. Dr Kate said that natural approaches can make all the difference for people who are anxious.

Regular 6-8 hours of good sleep, regular exorcise and nutritional food can really be huge for people who have anxiety.  Waking up at 3 am in the morning is a sign that you might have a blood sugar disorder. According to Dr Kate the most important meal of the day is breakfast because what you eat in the morning can actually affect how you sleep in the middle of the night.  Getting enough protein and avoiding sugary breakfasts is often key to a good night sleep. If your bloodsugar is low you are going to wake up in the night said Dr Kate.

Some of the nutritional supplements that can make a huge difference for people with anxiety include B vitamins, Zinc, Vitamin C and Magnesium.  According to Dr Kate mother nature also has some herbs that work really well for anxiety including Kava Kava which helps with deep relaxation but allows you to have mental clarity at the same time. Dr Kate told us that she often used Kava kava in university during exams because it helped her remain calm but be able to focus.

Other supplements that Dr Kate recommended for anxiety include GABA, which is the brains primary neurotransmitter, and people taking GABA often feel calmer after just 15 minutes.  St Johns Wort is another herb that Dr Kate has seen have great results with patients.

If you have anxiety, its important to try to understand what is causing that anxiety but equally important to find out which nutritional supplements can make a difference for you!

Dr Marita Says Anxiety Affecting More Young People 0

In an interview on the Health First Radio Show recently, Dr Marita Schauch said that she is seeing more and more young people coming into her clinic with Adrenal exhaustion.  "I am seeing younger people with more anxiety" she said and believes that this is the result of being plugged in all the time.  "Kids today don't seem to have time off" she said, "we drive them from one activity to another" and then they are texting and playing on devices which doesn't allow them to have down time. Its no wonder kids today are stressed out.  When we add in the sugar and poor diets we end up with kids and teens who are anxious, stressed and susceptible to panic attacks. Dr Marita said that she suggests that people who are stressed including teens get back to the basics.

People who have been under stress for periods of time have run down their adrenals and need Magnesium which helps them relax and helps muscles including the heart, lowers bloodpressure. Dr Marita also suggests the use of Rescue remedy, and Gaba during times of anxiousness or panic. Siberian Ginseng, Suma and Rhodiola which are all in Adrenasense for nourishing the adrenals over time.

For people experiencing throid issues after periods of stress which are indicated by thininng hair, brittle nails, weight gain and lethargy. Dr Marita suggests you go to do your doctor and get your thyroid glands tested. You may want to try Thyrosense which helps boost your metabolism and support the thyroid gland.
